Estimate how much import duty you could recover on goods you export, return or destroy. Enter two numbers and see your refund over up to 5 years. No sign-up needed.
The calculator multiplies the duties you pay each year by the share of those goods that later leave the country, then applies a refund rate of up to 99% for each year you look back.
Estimate = annual duties x % of goods exported, returned or destroyed x 99% x years.
Goods exported to customers abroad, returned to foreign suppliers, rejected as defective, or destroyed under customs supervision. Imported materials used to make exported products can also qualify.
In the U.S., claims can generally reach back 5 years from the import date. In Canada, the window is generally 4 years. Older imports drop out of the window over time, so it pays to check early.
Your actual refund depends on which duties are eligible, how your goods moved, and the records you have. A free review of your import and export activity gives you a real number.
We review your records at no cost and tell you what you can actually recover. You only pay if we recover.
